Bloom Where You Are Planted

The big brother showering life lessons on the little sister on a random night:

It’s a cold night. The kind where the stars are nowhere to be seen, the moon covered by the dark clouds and the wet from the recent down pour just drying up.

“Bloom where you are planted.” He said as he nonchalantly draped an arm on my shoulder.
“You’re telling me that why?”
“You can’t just be all potential. Quit slacking off.”
“But it’s nice to be stress-free. I didn’t know it felt this great to just be a regular student.”
“There’s no glory in being average.”
“I like being average.”
“Listen to yourself. There’s only a five-year difference between us. I’m telling you, if only i knew then what i know now, i would’ve grabbed every opportunity that came my way.”
